Overused Excuse

I am guilty of this excuse. It’s probably the most overused sentence, especially on a college campus along with “I’m tired” and “I am so hungry.” Of course, I am talking about the “I’m so busy, I don’t have time for that” phrase.

I think this is such a bullshitted phrase. As I said before, I used to say this all the time. But think about it. The amount of time you hear people say this and then you see them doing other stuff. I’m not saying we need to work 24/7 and not have time to wind down, but it’s just a plain lie when people say they don’t have time to do stuff. And I’m sure people have valid reasons for not doing something, but I just don’t believe that “being busy” is a valid excuse.

With that said, I am a liar. I didn’t write yesterday. I wasn’t busy or anything, I just didn’t do it. I know I promised to write every day, but I didn’t. I don’t even have a valid excuse!!! I’m sorry. I feel so stupid, having committed to something and not fulfilling my end of the stick. This is hard, it’s hard to imagine how some people do this every day for years on end. I was really impressed with those who commit to this every day, but I’m even more impressed now.

Those people could be doing whatever they want, but they chose to take some time out of their day and write. That is so fucking impressive. I honestly hope I can reach that level of dedication and effective time allocation one day.

Again, sorry I am lazy.
